If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to swap your desk for salty hair, sun-kissed shoulders, and an instant community of fellow wave-chasers, the Gower Surf Collective might be right up your street. This laid-back crew gathers every Thursday evening for a surf-focused yoga session—then lets the night unfold however it will, whether that’s beach pizza, a pint, or planning their next surf trip.
Why It’s Worth Checking Out
Surfing’s better together. Even the most seasoned riders will tell you: spotting that perfect set of waves is more fun with friends. The Collective’s all about sharing tips, high-fives, and wiping-out stories without a hint of judgment.
Yoga keeps you balanced. Those Thursday sessions at Rechabite Hall in Gowerton (6:30 pm prompt) are designed to loosen tight surf muscles, sharpen your focus, and help prevent those post-surf aches. No need to be a yogi already—everyone’s welcome.
It’s a genuine community. Beyond yoga and surf, these folks organise everything from beach clean-ups to charity surf-athons. If you care about the coastline as much as catching the next barrel, you’ll feel right at home.
Your opportunity to travel. The gang organises regular Camp-outs in Pembrokshire & Road trips to new and far-flung surf spots!

Turn up on Thursday. No fees, no membership cards—just bring your mat, your board (or borrow one!), and a curious spirit.
They meet at Rechabite Hall, Gowerton, for yoga at 6:45pm for yoga at 7pm; after that, plans are totally freestyle. Some weeks it’s beachside pizza; others, a casual get-together at Nomad or whoever’s kitchen is closest. There’s zero pressure, but a ton of support—exactly what you need to keep riding both waves and life.
Whether you’re hunting for your next surf buddy, keen to add a midweek stretch to your routine, or just looking to meet new people who get why the ocean is so addictive, give the Gower Surf Collective a shout. Thursday’s coming—will we see you there?
